IT WAS A SUNNY DAY IN MEXICO…
when Carlos Corona and Giovanna Piazza met, in 2009.
She heard him playing a Brazilian song on the guitar and started immediately to sing the second part of it.
Since then they have started building their own collage of jazzy Acapulco-Paris-dream music.
They have played in small venues, big theaters, beautiful festivals and crazy places also.
Now, 15 years later, they are living in Berlin and celebrating this journey with Horizonte- a brand new show filled with their own compositions. Who knew that one song in Mexico would lead to this? Cheers to the next chapter!
15 Jahre Jubiläum vom Duo „Babel Collage“: Der mexikanische Gitarrist Carlos Corona und die brasilianische Sängerin Giovanna Piazza, die sich in Mexiko kennenlernten und nun in Berlin leben, präsentieren ihr neues Album „Horizonte“. Diese Darbietung ist geprägt von einer tiefen, persönlichen künstlerischen Identität, die die lange und kreative Reise des Duos widerspiegelt.
Das Repertoire verbindet lateinamerikanische Nuancen mit sonnigen, jazzigen und akustischen Elementen. Poesie, die Träume, Nostalgie und Liebe thematisiert, zieht das Publikum in eine Welt voller Farben. Als besonderes Highlight verleiht der Percussionist Matteo Bowinkelmann der Aufführung eine zusätzliche Dimension und bereichert die Musik mit lebhaften, rhythmischen Akzenten.
